SOARING temperatures brought Lewisham residents out in force to enjoy two annual events which always draw a huge crowd.
As clear skies and sunshine sent temperatures up to 25 degrees centigrade, hundreds packed Hilly Fields, Brockley, for the ever-popular festival.
Children enjoyed various displays including a Second World War vehicle and a shire horse display, while others danced around the maypole.
Just down the road, Goldsmiths College, in New Cross, let the public enjoy the many talents of its students, including the undergraduate visual arts degree shows, musical performances, Ghanaian dance performances and a children’s corner complete with clown.
A political debate, UK into the Euro, raised temperatures even further — but people cooled down listening to the jazz trio, gospel and pop bands also on offer at the event.
