A DAIRY farm which has produced milk with properties to help people sleep at night has used the services of a High Wycombe chartered accountancy firm to help bring it to the market.

Red Kite Farms near Turville Heath, produces Slumber Bedtime Milk, containing higher levels than ordinary milk of melatonin, made naturally by cows during the night when the amounts of melatonin in their system is at its highest.

Karen Bartlett, partner at Saffery Champness in Temple End, said: "In this first year we have been involved in the pricing of the product by costing it based on variable and fixed expenditure and expected sales.

"We also assist in budget process for the entire farm and monitor on a regular basis the return on capital employed to ensure individual projects are adding value."

Red Kite Farms Ltd, made up of four farms totalling 1,500 acres, has been undergoing organic conversion since 1998 and now sells fully accredited organic milk and is registered with The Soil Association.
