Redhill Bowling club are still awaiting their first win of the season after playing two away fixtures at the weekend.
On Saturday, four rinks of men travelled to Horley. As the game drew to a close, it seemed a fairly even match would end in defeat on all four rinks.
But a late rally by Monty Bridgen, Graham Abbott, Peter Carr and skip Roy Wren saw them win four of the last five ends to run out winners 23-17.
John Hoad's rink also held out for a 21-17 win. Other rink scores were Dennis Razzell 17-23 and Tony Avery 17-27. The final score was 78-84.
On Sunday the club travelled to Caterham for a four-rink match. Conditions were dry but soon deteriorated and three of the four Redhill rinks failed to master the wet conditions.
The one good performance came from Dutton, Stevens, Prew and Avery. They managed to win 28-7, dropping only seven singles throughout.
The overall score was 65-85 in favour of Caterham.
