Radlett's Rotary Club raised the roof, and an impressive £2,200 for the Stroke Association at their annual Royal Marines Band Concert.
It was all smiles for Rotary Club President John Hewer and Assistant District Govenor Lucille Parker, as they handed the cheque to the Stroke Association's local representative, Kathy Rose.
The annual concert by the Portsmouth based Royal Marine Band at St Alban's Verulamium proved an excellent fundraising event.
John Hewer said: "The evening seems very popular, and almost filled the venue's 800 capacity."
He said he was delighted to invite Kathy Rose to the Masonic Hall in Radlett to present it to her.
He added: "Although I have no personal experience of strokes, I know they can be a life ruining experience for people and their families and I feel they probably don't get the kind of high profile they deserve."
