THE Essex Fertility Centre based at Holly House Hospital in Buckhurst Hill, has achieved its most successful results to date in all types of fertility treatment. o

Consistently rated among the most successful units in the country, the High Road centre has outstripped national averages during 2001.

The centre offers the full range of fertility treatment including IVF, ICSI and Frozen Embryo Replacement and specialises in a holistic approach, tailoring treatment to match patients' individual needs.

Results for January to September last year for birth rates after receiving IVF or ICSI treatment stands at 35.1 per cent, beating the previous best results of 26.6 per cent for the period January to September 1999.

A new method, blastocyst transfer, is suitable for only a select group of patients, but has resulted in success rates up to three times higher than that of conventional IVF.

The centre has treated more than 7,000 patients in its 13-year history and more than 1,700 babies have been born as a result of its treatment of fertility problems.
