THERE are going to be 18 new bobbies on the beat in Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley this summer.
Chief Inspector for north Kent police Colin Croucher welcomed the extra officers, who are trainees and will be joining the force between June and October this year.
He said: “The new officers will help free up experienced officers to tackle high-crime areas in the borough.”
He said the number of police officers has decreased over the past 10 years and these new recruits will help the force “ maintain its staffing levels”.
