FANS of Joyce Grenfell were treated to a rare evening of comedy and history as part of a one-woman charity show.
The spellbound audience at Christchurch Hall, Christchurch Road, Dartford, heard Gravesend entertainer Dorothy Oliver deliver a series of classic Grenfell monologues.
She also told them how the popular revue artiste shot to fame after impersonating a dinner party guest.
The event was organised by Dartford West Allotment and Garden Society in aid of Archery House Friends and Family which supports adults and children with learning disabilities of Archery House.
Organiser Jean Dixon said: “It was a great night and everybody thoroughly enjoyed themselves.” The evening and a quiz a few nights before raised more than £300 for the charity.
