Police investigating a violent sexual attack on a 21- year-old woman in South Croydon have issued an e-fit of her attacker.
The woman was returning home from a night out in the town centre at about 2.20am on Saturday December 28, 2002 when she was attacked.
As she walked along Selsdon Road under the railway bridge near the junction of Chelsham Road, the woman was struck on the head with an iron bar, dragged across the road into an alleyway running parallel with the railway line and sexually assaulted.
Her attacker is described as a white man about 5'11" tall, proportionate build, mid to late 20s, clean-shaven with short mousey brown hair. He was wearing blue jeans, white/cream top and three quarter length black leather coat.
Anyone who saw a man behaving suspiciously in the area at the time, possibly with bloodstained clothing or hands should call 0208 649 1379 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
