AN INDIAN eye camp has treated more than 450 people thanks to the generosity of Gravesend residents.
Following a concert, featuring international bhangra artists, held at the Woodville Halls, Windmill Street, in September last year, £1,000 was raised and sent to the Phagwara district of Punjab and the Rohtak district of India.
The camps, which operated on 35 people and checked more than 400 people's eyes during the Christmas period, were established by two businessmen Balbir Singh Johal and Daljit Singh Johal.
They now have plans for another camp in February and are looking for donations to help fund an ambulance for the area.
