The number of patients waiting for heart bypass surgery and other heart operations in Morecambe Bay has fallen. Figures published by the Morecambe Bay Primary Care Trust revealed that during the month of September there were four patients waiting between nine-11 months for heart operations at hospital in Blackpool compared to eight the previous month. The national target is to implement a maximum wait of nine months for these operations by March 2003.
