COMMUNITY groups in Petts Wood can now be included on a prestigious website which collates the best educational material in the country.

Libraries, activity groups, councils, charities and museums are invited to join the National Grid for Learning (NGfL), which is a free Government-funded site.

It acts as an access point for more than 900 other educational websites, many of which are used by teachers, but there is a growing amount of information for people not studying formally, like parents and adult learners.

NGfL's content officer Emma Willson said: "The internet has made the world a small place and the NGfL offers the chance to reach out and get websites recognised nationally."

To be included, each site must undergo checks to ensure it has educational content.
