Reigate Priory Athletics Club hosted its annual open 10km road race last Wednesday.
This year 278 runners representing local clubs, including Oxted Runners, Epsom and Ewell Harriers, Dorking and Mole Valley AC, Lingfield Running Club, Redhill and Surrey Beagles, SLH, and Crawley AC, as well as those of no affiliation, took part.
Nineteen-year-old Philip Wicks crossed the line first in 33min 34sec and it was a further two minutes before the silver and bronze medals were decided.
In a grandstand finish in which the lead changed hands in the last 20 metres, Simon Eastlake ran 35min 42sec two seconds in front of Mats Gedin.
Fiona Clark won the ladies’ race in 40min 22sec followed by Natasha Swan and Terrie William.
Priory runners included Edward Craft, Nick Feakins, Kevin Harris, Emma Campbell, Miki Coiley, Susie White, Joanna Obrastsoff-Rutinsky, and Robert Murkin.
