A charity appeal launched to recover out of date bank notes hopes to recoup millions of pounds for a good cause.
The Children's Kidney Trust is asking people to hunt around for out of date one and five pound notes which are worthless to the public but can be used to help fund the charity's work.
It believes there may be millions of pounds worth of old notes lying in drawers, tucked inside wallets and stashed amongst papers.
The Trust is currently funding research into inter-family transplants which could reduce the patient's agonising wait for a suitable organ.
