A Harpenden man was caught up in a dramatic incident on a London Underground (LU) train yesterday on Wednesday, May 15.
An investigation has been launched after the wrong-side doors opened on a train just as a main line train was passing shortly after 11am.
London radio station newsreader John Cushing, 25, was a passenger on the Tube train at Royal Oak station in West London.
He said: "It was really, really scary and I hate to think what would have happened if the train had been more packed.
Instead of the doors on the platform side opening, the doors the other side opened just as this train went past.
"Fortunately, passengers were lining up on the other side of the train and no-one was hurt. If it had been a rush-hour train, many passengers would have been leaning against the doors that wrongly opened."
LU said the train had been taken out of service and the driver had, as is routine, undergone drugs and alcohol tests.
