A TEENAGE motorist was killed when his car crashed into a wall at the side of Wycombe Hospital.

Craig Goodwin, 18, from Wootton Drive, Wooburn Green, was driving down Marlow Hill at 11.30pm on Monday. Police believe his car, a red Vauxhall Nova, lost control, overturned and hit the concrete wall at the rear exit of the hospital.

Craig died a short time later in the hospital.

A spokesman for South Bucks NHS Trust said: "We can confirm that he was taken to accident and emergency shortly before midnight, and he died in the early hours of Tuesday morning."

Craig's neighbour, Joy Lee, said: "He always smiled and said 'hello' and was a very friendly chap. He seemed like a real young gentleman. He didn't seem to mix with any of the bad elements that we can get around the village."

Flowers have been laid at the scene of the accident in memory of Craig, along with several poems and messages.

One card read: "To a lad who always brought us pleasure. Words cannot express how we feel."

Another message from a close friend said: "This proves one thing the good die young".
