A MOTHER whose five-month old daughter suffers from a rare chromosome disorder is appealing for funding from News Shopper readers to help her fly to a research centre in America.

Kirsten Vye, of Curran Avenue, in Sidcup, was born on January 4 with “Ring 18” which only five other people in the world have.

Although she has already had surgery for a hole in the heart, she is deaf and will grow up with severe learning difficulties.

Mum Emma Vye, 31, is appealing for funding so she can go to the 18 Registry and Research Centre in San Antonio, Texas, where Kirste can receive hormone injections.

Ring 18 is a condition where the 18th chromosome is broken and forms a ring.

If you can help, call Mrs Vye on 020-8859-5263.
