CCTV Panel AGM turned out to be disappointing, not one member of the public turned up, despite the Control room manager being present to answer questions, especially about the controversy over the granite balls being moved and letters in the press on the subject. It was a missed opportunity. It was advertised in this section last week.

MY apologies to Scannappeal, shortage of space prevented this information appearing last week. Their Cruise and Dine evening takes place on Friday, June 20. The cruise will sail from Maidenhead towards Marlow and will include dinner and a 60/70s disco. Tickets priced at £45 each are available from the Scannappeal office on 01494 727752.

NEXT Pensioners Voice meeting is at The West End Hall on June 7 at 1.30 pm and the entertainment is by The Cookham Bell Ringers. There will be a raffle, tea and biscuits. Members will be asked to vote for their new Chairman, to replace Alan Page, who stood down at the last meeting and has gone to live in Spain.

A warning to the elderly, the Neighbourhood Watch office ask you to beware of all callers,

also strangers in your road. A lady let two men into her home last week and is now £1000 worse off, they told her that she had won a competition, as simple as that.

I notice on The High Wycombe Society's programme of events that they are holding a

new members get together which is a Cheese and Wine evening from 6pm to 8 pm at 24 Lucas Road, which is just off Totteridge Road. If you want to know more about the society just contact Frances Presland (Hon Secretary) or if you wish to join (new members are always welcome) then contact Angie Woodward (membership secretary ) on 01494 527978.
