THERE will be a partial eclipse of the Sun tomorrow morning. The eclipse starts well before
dawn and by the time the sun rises, if there is no cloud to obscure the sun, you will be able to see the moon, in front of the sun, obscuring part of the sun's disc. But beware, even at sunrise, you should not look at the sun directly to avoid damaging your eyes. If you are lucky, there may be sufficient cloud to reduce the sun's brightness.
CHRISTIANS in the Community jointly held 'Hope for a Broken World' with drama, psalms and poetry. On Sunday, June 29 at 5pm there will be another joint service, including the Salvation Army Band, outside the gate to Hughenden Church. You can picnic for Songs of Praise in the Park.
THE team organising the Carnival on Saturday, June 7, urgently need the loan of gazebos. Anyone with one to offer, please contact 01494 563369. Since the Carnival Committee are working so hard for this event, here is a full list of attractions - steel band, Scout Diamond Jubilee Exhibition, junior football tournament, children's fun zone with slides and ball pits, fun rides, majorettes and dancing displays, tug of war, live broadcasts from Swan fm, beer tent, barbecue, face painting, fire engine and police car, and much more, not forgetting Jermaine McSporran's special appearance. The Procession to the Crick starts at Forge Road at midday. Hopefully the sun will shine all day!
