APPEAL to save Common Wood has now reached nearly £75,000 in pledges, to which Gift Aid repayments can be added. This includes a generous donation of £25,000 from Penn Parish Council. Decision by the Heritage Lottery Fund is expected in mid-June, by which time it is hoped that the figure of £100,000 in pledges will have been reached. Chairman of the Campaign, David Harris is appealing to residents to assist in the final push to achieve the last £25,000 to save the woodland which has been put up for sale in separate lots. Every pledge, large and small is appreciated. Even if you dont use the wood, is it not worth £20 to ensure it is there for your grandchildren to use?

DON'T forget to get your entries in early for the Village Show, as this helps the organisers in planning the layout of the hall if they know how many entries there will be in the various classes.
