THANKS to local gardener Ron White and all the folk that helped him with his open garden last Monday afternoon, over £600 was raised for The Ian Rennie Hospice at Home. The weather was very kind and Ron's garden looked magnificent. Ron, it was a great, well done.

NOW out and about is the much awaited Summer 2003 edition of The Trinity Herald.

This excellent Prestwood and Great Kingshill Church and Village News booklet is distributed free to almost 3000 homes in the parish. If you haven't got yours, call by the church to pick one up. New in this edition is a special insert newsletter from the Prestwood Forum for Framing and Countryside. This keeps you in touch with the new initiatives to bring local people in touch with Prestwood's largest local business - farming. All sorts of issues are up for discussion and action such as the production of a local rights of way map and visits to local farms. Indeed, tomorrow at 3pm, there is a visit to Ashwell Farm in Little Kingshill in Heath End Road. For more details telephone 01494 864251.

GILL Bicknell will be busy next Monday evening talking about The Work of a Magistrate. This interesting topic is part of the Monday Group's full and fascinating calendar and you can catch her talk at Prestwood Methodist Church Hall at 7.45pm.

For more details you can call the secretary Margaret Deakin on 01494 866178.

ARRIVING at the mature but still young milestone of 60 years of age has certain benefits. One of these is that you are now eligible to join The Prestwood Forget Me Not Club. They describe themselves as a happy bunch and would like to meet some more happy 60plus year olds. They are meeting next Tuesday afternoon at 2.15pm in the village hall and plan an entertaining afternoon. If you want to know more, call by or call the secretary on 01494 863827.
