Photographs of a man wanted in connection with the stabbing of a woman in East London, last month, have been released by police.

Shofiqul Islam, 32, from the E1 area, is wanted in relation to the multiple stabbing in Kingward House in Hanbury Street on March 5.

Police were called to Kingward House in Hanbury Street, and found a woman in her early 30s with stab wounds.

Mr Islam is described as being Asian, of medium build with short dark hair and brown eyes. He also has a noticeable scar on his left cheek.

DI Mandy Beacher, who is investigating the incident at Limehouse Police Station, said: "Despite extensive enquires we are still trying to trace Mr Islam to speak to him about this incident. We do know that he speaks very little English and is likely to be living within a Bengali community. We would urge anyone who may know Mr Islam or his whereabouts to contact us as soon as possible."
