Finchley Manor rounded off a successful winter squash season with its end-of-season championships on Saturday (April 12).

Following the promotion of Finchley Manor's second team to Division Three of the Middlesex League, the Lyndhurst Gardens-based club had a vast array of talent on show, all vying to pick up the season's last piece of silverware.

The highlight of the afternoon's play saw Simon Cohen beat Craig Rossiter in the mens' open final, while in the women's open final, Judy Williams beat Tasmin Grant.

There were also wins for David Cohen in the Club Handicap, Mike Fitzpatrick in the Team Handicap, Jeremy Vivian in the Veterans competition and Berge Kay in the Vintage trophy.

While the squash season draws to a close, the club's tennis season will shortly be underway with the Junior Grand Prix Tennis Tournament between April 21-26.

The tournament is for boys and girls aged between ten and 18 and is open to players of all standards.

Finchley Manor has also recently completed the resurfacing and painting of the junior courts. On April 27 from 10am to midday, the Mini Tennis and Kids Zone area will be officially opened.
