What a fantastic afternoon myself and the family had at the Ealing Blues and Jazz and Food festival on Saturday 3rd August.

Always a treat, this year excelled itself with great music, great food and a marvellous atmosphere with thousands of people of all backgrounds in good sprits enjoying the afternoon with just a couple of friendly bobbies happily giving out directions to the loo for example.

Not to be excluded from the afternoon's festivities of course was Ealing Parking Services' Attendants whose numbers visibly swelled to take a mean advantage of the desperate citizens trying to find a space to park within walking distance of Ealing Town. I swear there must have been one attendant for every vehicle luckily parked.

Sadly the good spirit of the festival was quickly dispelled on returning to my own vehicle some scant four minutes over the two hour period deadline to find that nice yellow packet stuck to my windscreen, and to see the attendant positively beside himself with glee joining his three other mates eyeing up another criminally parked car.

Come on Ealing Council, enough is enough.

This is not the first time your parking attendants have come under fire for their, er, enthusiasm whose activity it seems is to collect revenue rather than take a sensible approach to parking issues in the borough.
