A FORMER street sweeper from Watford is planning to talk a whole lot of rubbish – literally – live on satellite television.

Mr Steve Holdsworth, 47, a boxing commentator for Sky channel, Eurosport, is preparing to feed his outburst on the state of the town's streets into his two-hour slot on Tuesday at 8pm.

He plans to use the show, broadcast live to 49 countries around the world, to slam the "diabolical" condition of Watford's streets, which he claims are the worst in the country.

He said: "Next week, I am going to moan on a live show and nominate Watford as the filthiest town in the country.

"England has a problem with litter, but Watford in particular. I have seen people emptying litter out of their cars and kids throwing rubbish around without parents saying a word."

Mr Holdsworth, of Sussex Road, who was a street cleaner for three months before getting his job with Eurosport in 1991, believes Watford Council has not done enough to combat the town's litter problems.
