The potential impact of the proposed development on thearchaeological site needs to be assessed, while the public will be giventhe chance to air views at a public meeting before planners can make theirdecision, said chief planning officer JohnPattison.

Manchester-based Ultratools, which makes high precisionmoulds for the cosmetics and medical industries, wants to relocate itsmanufacturing operation on the site of the old ironworks in thevillage.
