MOTOR dealership Charvills is running a free Safety at the Wheel car safefy course for women at the VauxhalI dealership in First Avenue, Harlow, on Thursday, April 10.
The evening will feature practical instruction on personal awareness and self-protection as well as basic car maintenance. The psychology behind car confidence will be demonstrated by ex-police chief inspector and human behaviour specialist Vic Botterill, with practical advice on defensive driving and combating the hazards of modern driving, including so-called 'road rage', which the women can take part in.
Advice will be given about the frequent causes of aggressive, dangerous driving and 'motorway madness', with the audience encouraged to share their own experiences and how they could have been avoided. The evening will include advice on how to use everyday objects for personal self-protection and to ensure a rapid escape from a would-be attacker.
