Barnet rounded off their home campaign with a spirited performance against relegation threatened Woking despite having goalkeeper Ricky Millard sent off for handling outside his area.

The home side began the Easter Monday fixture brightly and almost got off to the perfect start when Danny Brown headed wide from a deep Mark Gower cross.

Junior Agogo, restored to the starting line-up following Saturday's match at Gravesend, was a constant thorn in the visitors' side and had several chances to open the scoring in the first half. The best of the chances coming when he blazed over from eight yards after seven minutes.

Woking, scrapping for every ball, should have taken the lead however when Chris Collins met a Scott Canham cross unmarked, but his powerful header just evaded Millard's far post.

Despite further half chances for Agogo and Midgley it was Lee Pluck who came closest to giving Barnet when the lead when his header was cleared off the line by Woking's Jon Boardman.

But the best chance of the first 45 minutes came with seconds of the half remaining. Woking's Chris Sharpling sprinted past Guy Lopez and Guy Butters but hisn shot went inches wide of the far post.

Forty seconds after the restart Woking should have opened the scoring when Sharpling again fired wide following a goalmouth scramble. Agogo shot over the bar moments later but it was Lee Flynn who turned villain with a wasteful piece of finishing after an excellent Bees move.

On 62 minutes a flowing move saw Brown feed Gower and his unselfish pass found Flynn in acres of space and with only Ashley Baynes to beat. But instead of placing his effort, Flynn blasted the ball wide from six yards.

Agogo headed wide once more and Lopez's 25-yard piledriver was well saved by Bayes before the major talking point of the game 19 minutes from time.

Raphael Nade raced on to a long through ball and as he clipped the ball over the onrushing Millard the Barnet keeper clearly handled the ball outside his box. The referee had no choice but to send the youngster off and Pluck replaced him in goal.

Woking looked to make the extra man tell when Mark Gower cleared a corner off the line and Amos Foyewa's shot was well saved by Pluck. Collins had a further shot blocked by Lopez on the line and when Foyewa blazed over the visitors' hopes of snatching all three points was over.

Speaking after the game, Martin Allen, said: "I thought we were excellent and we played very well. We played particularly well in the first half, we just didn't manage to get the final touch.

"I'm very proud of the players, they played with everything they had. They showed a lot of character even when we were down to ten men and we could even have nicked it on the break. I didn't think the referee had much option with Ricky's sending off and it was probably one of the few decisions the referee got right."
