Two Staffordshire bullterriers are hoping for a brighter 2003 after being rescued from a life of neglect and filth at a Redhill house.
Bella, three and Tyson, 10, were found living in a room littered with urine and faeces, and 40 to 50 per cent underweight when they were rescued by the RSPCA last April.
Their former owner was convicted in December for allowing the dogs to suffer unnecessarily, and banned from keeping any animals for two years and given a 40-hour community service order.
RSPCA inspector Liz Wheeler said: "They have been through a lot and it would be lovely to get them settled into caring new homes as soon as possible in 2003."
Both dogs are friendly, but will need separate homes. Bella gets on well with other dogs and needs an experienced owner, whereas Tyson needs a quiet home where he will get a lot of love and affection.Call the centre on 01342 893117.
