The Boreham Wood U13s had a great cup game against Harpenden Colt Pumas at the weekend, despite only 13 players being available due to injuries.

Boreham Wood had the ball in the net first when Adam Morris went on a solo run and put it away for the opener.

Then man-of-the-match Wayne Hurloll played a great ball though to Matthew Hill, who rounded the keeper and put it away for the second. Five minutes later Wayne Hurloll made a defence-splitting pass to James Whereat, who blasted it in to put Wood three up. Just before half time Matthew Hill scored again and made it 4-0.

Manager Jamie Marlow made changes, bringing on Craig Maclean and Jed Burnett. Jed Burnett nearly scored, but his header was cleared off the line.

Soon Wood scored their fifth goal, courtesy of Matthew Hill, celebrating his hat-trick. Then Wayne Hurloll scored an amazing individual goal to make it 6-0. Daniel Waller nearly scored, but his shot was well-saved.

Then James Whereat scored a freakish goal, when he scored straight from the corner-kick to make it 7-0. Adam Morris made it 8-0 when he blasted past the keeper, and Daniel Taylor had a couple of chances, but both were cleared of the line. In the dying seconds Ben Pirie went up for a corner and the ball fell for him to tap it home, for 9-0.

Manager Jamie Marlow said: "The whole team played well, from the keeper Eddie Dunk though to Matthew Hill, the striker, and we are just getting better every week we play. Wayne Hurloll was outstanding with his passing and great finishing."
