DARTFORD Council is poised to tackle safety on the streets, as part of a promise it made when announcing a council tax increase last week.
Identifying community safety as the main concern among residents, the council will extend its CCTV coverage towards Alamein Gardens, and Hesketh Park.
The Dartford community safety partnership will also pinpoint hot spot areas.
Anti-crime initiatives, to be announced later this year, will target Stone, Temple Hill, the town centre and the Tree Estate.
The partnership involves Dartford Borough Council, Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley Primary Care Trust, North Kent police, Kent County Council, Kent and Medway fire brigade, Kent probation service and the Kent youth offending team.
