PLANS to close a residential home for children with learning disabilities have been discussed at a public meeting.
Bromley Primary Care Trust (PCT) proposes to close the Woodlands Residential Home, in Main Road, which was used as a temporary respite facility for children, following the closure of Betts Way.
It has been empty since the new Sunrise Centre opened on the Betts Way site in April.
The PCT now has three options for the future use of the site available to it. They are, to keep the building, sell it to the local authority or sell Woodlands on the open market.
These were discussed at the Community Health Council (CHC) learning disability special interest group meeting on June 11, attended by parents and voluntary groups.
A further public meeting will be held on July 11 at the CHC offices in Babbacombe Road, Bromley, at 2.30pm and a final decision will be given on July 25.
