THIS is in response to the vote of no confidence in the police (News Shopper, August 16). My vote of no confidence goes NOT to the poor policemen and women but to a government which has failed on law and order in spite of all its promises and of the way it condemned the previous Government for its failures. To quote a charity appeal I once received, with a slight variation: "What this country needs is less do-gooders and more good-doers".
