STAFF at a Bushey pre-school sacrificed their Saturday morning lie-in this week to help co-ordinate a charity fundraiser for the Peace Hospice, Watford.
The Startright Pre-School opened its doors in Falconer Road, on Saturday, February 8, morning to raise more than £300.
For a donation of £10, parents could drop their children at the pre-school where a party, complete with streamers and hats, was underway.
Parents were then free to indulge in a spot of shopping, relaxation or exercise.
Funds raised from the morning will be combined with money raised at a fathers' morning held earlier this year.
Pre-school leader Ms Sue Baxter, who has run Startright for more than 22 years, said: "The donations for the Saturday morning event, together with the Fathers' morning plus a coffee morning, raised the fantastic total of £340 which is the largest sum we have raised for charity."
The donation was presented to Mr Daniel Fletcher, director of fundraising for the hospice.
