The season of goodwill has extended to Essex County Council's highway repair department.
A pothole in Brook Road, Buckhurst Hill, which had a botched repair lasting just 12 days, has now been repaired for the second time this month.
The council was true to its word and carried out further work at the weekend after vowing to take action when I reported the rogue rut on Thursday.
The quick response to the problem site shows what a little pothole perseverance can achieve.
