A pothole has been fixed after the problem was raised by The Guardian's very own dedicated crater crusader.

Gladstone Road in Buckhurst Hill was last week home to one of the largest potholes Pothole Man has encountered.

However, a day after my visit it was marked for repair, which has now been carried out.

Sally-Ann Gilbert, who lives in the road, said: “I think it must be down to getting the paper involved.

“Considering the amount of calls all the residents have made to the council and nothing being done, I think it’s really strange that the day after The Guardian comes down they mark the pothole with paint and then fill it the following day.”

Wendy Ryall, also of Gladstone Road, said: “I couldn’t believe it.

“It was a bit coincidental that it happened after The Guardian came down.

“We we absolutely shocked because nothing has been done about it before then.

“The whole road really needs resurfacing but at least the pothole is fixed and it’s lovely now.”

I am ever ready for your pothole needs so don’t hesitate to ring about a rut!
