A COMPROMISE has been reached between a children's hospice and a forest landowner to resurface a 15ft access road, which will benefit the lives of the terminally ill children and their families who use the road.

Haven House Children's Hospice and Woodford Rugby Club, in High Road, Woodford Green share the same access road and have fought for improvements to the road for several years.

But as City of London Corporation own the land, they have blocked the two organisations from widening the road because it is forest land.

The planning permission seeks to widen the the dropped kerb to improve access, which will result in around ten metre squared of forest land being lost.

They have also applied to resurface the road with a fully permeable surface.

Comments can be made on the application until November 29.
