SCHOOL pupils celebrated the Hindu festival of light by tasting food and dressing in traditional costume.
Mums of children at Avon House Preparatory School, in High Road, Woodford Green cooked sweet and savory food for the children to taste to celebrate Diwali.
While pupils Lakkia Thayamanitheepan from year 3 and Kaavya Surendra and Lakshmi Robertson from year 2 performed a dance in Indian costume.
Head teacher Amanda Campbell said: "We would like to thank everyone who took part from children to parents. It was a great way to start this festival of light."
