The Redbridge Community Police Team, which replaced the borough’s old Parks Police, made 128 arrests in its first year of operation it has been revealed.
Figures discussed at a meeting of Redbridge’s cabinet last night also showed the team, which is made up of two sergeants and twelve constables, issued 397 warnings for cannabis possession and 156 notices for anti-social behaviour.
Other notable successes included the discovery of three plastic bags containing 500 credit cards on Wanstead Recreation Ground and the arrest of a fisherman at Fairlop Waters on an international warrant for assault.
