The lives of the millions who died in the Holocaust were remembered at a special memorial service in Valentines Park, Ilford today.
Schoolchildren from across the borough joined politicians and religious leaders as they listened to a speech by Holocaust survivor Bob Obuchowski.
Readings and prayers were said at the ceremony which commemorates and honours the millions who died in the Holocaust at the hands of the Nazis as well as the victims of genocide in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
Wreaths were laid in the memorial garden and students concluded the ceremony with a reading of the Statement of Commitment, a series of pledges that remind us to remember the holocaust and all other genocides.
