Iain Duncan Smith will visit a Woodford Green bookshop.

The Work and Pensions Secretary will be in his constituency on February 8 and will stop off at the Village Bookshop in High Road at midday.

Bookshop owner Tan Dhillon said he would try and order copies of Mr Duncan Smith’s 2003 novel ‘The Devil’s Tune’ and ‘There is Such a Thing as Society’ a collection of essays for which the MP provided an introduction.

I actually bought one of his books, the Devil's Tune at an Oxfam Shop, I had to use it to prop up a corner of my bed.

Cornbeefur, the amount of time you spend on this site putting in your usual comments of drivel it's a wonder you use a bed!

IDS visiting a bookshop? And this is news? Will we be told when he goes to the chemist for some ointment and the supermarket for some baked beans?

I agree with the last comment. If IDS was opening something, or attending a function, anniversary or celebration of the bookshop then I can understand this article.

But just saying IDS is going to a bookshop... Must be a slow news day.

Unless his reserved copy of Fifty Shades of Grey has finally arrived.

Though he insists he's only collecting it for someone else.
