A café owner has banned pushchairs for health and safety reasons.
Belgique boss Igor Bekaert says he can no longer allow pushchairs in his cafe in Cambridge Park, Wanstead on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
He said: “Ann (his wife) and I love the kids at Belgique, hence the baby changing facilities and high chairs.
“But the pushchairs keep getting bigger and bolder and every single passageway gets clogged up.
“It has become a serious, dangerous problem.”
All pushchairs will now have to be left outside Belgique on the days concerned.
Mr Bekaert says he is looking into installing a storage area at the side of the premises.
He is already in dispute with Redbridge council over the construction of a sheltered terrace which he built without planning permission.
