Police have released a mobile phone image of two men they want to speak to five months after a man suffered a broken nose during an attack.

The 35-year-old victim was walking in Wellesley Road from the direction of High Street, Wanstead, on September 29 at 4.45pm.

He was then attacked by two suspects, who after the attack ran off towards High Street.

The victim was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital in Leytonstone and treated for a broken nose.

The first suspect is described as white, six foot and aged 20 to 25.

He was wearing a red and white checked polo shirt with a hood and blue jeans.

The second suspect is also described as white, six foot and aged 20 to 22.

He was wearing a black top with a white stripe down the arm.

Detective Constable Ben Whale said: "This was a vicious unprovoked assault on a male in the middle of the afternoon."

A spokesman for Redbridge police said the picture was taken on the mobile phone of a man who was with the victim, but does not wish to be indentified.

Anyone who recognises the men in the picture should call DC Ben Whale on 020 8345 2710.
