Children from the Orchard Estate in Woodford Green turned a blank wall into an art gallery.
Artist Zaman Mohammed, 42, has been working with the youngsters over half term to produce a series of colourful paintings.
The Orchard estate is currently undergoing a major programme of works to install a number of energy-saving improvements.
The children’s paintings have been placed on a temporary white wall which surrounds contractor cabins on the estate.
Mr Mohammed, who has a studio in Brick Lane, said: “It was an absolute pleasure working with the children.
“They all asked me if they could do some more painting with me and I think their art is stunning.
“Hopefully the council can find a permanent home for the art once the works on the estate are finished.”
