Wanstead has made it onto a top ten list of best places to live in Great Britain.
Over the last few weeks the Sunday Times has published what it considers the most desirable location when considering various factors, such as culture and education.
And yesterday, Wanstead came in at number ten on a list entitled 'Best of the rest: And finally...'
The article said: "Wanstead feels more like Middle England than the East End of London.
"It has a village green, a golf course, a cricket pitch, tennis courts, a listed church, a high street with chichi deli and wine bar, a 140-acre park and large Victorian and Edwardian homes."
The article also claims Wanstead would suit Chas and Dave fans who have been 'priced out of the real East End' and that Redbridge has good state schools.
Places higher on the list included Bath in Somerset and Burnham Market in Norfolk.
