A murderer who sparked a manhunt after escaping from a mental health unit has been arrested in Chigwell.
Lerone Boye, 27, was held in a planned operation just before 4pm yesterday at a house in Elderberry Close.
He remains in custody at a north London police station.
Boye was sentenced to 28 years imprisonment in December 2012 for the murder of 17-year-old Kelvin Chibueze in Ilford on August 15, 2011.
Police offered £15,000 for information leading to his capture after he escaped from the John Howard Centre in Kenworthy Road, Homerton, on October 16.
Kelvin Chibueze was chased and stabbed after a fight broke out at a party at the Arteflex Club in Ilford on August 15, 2011.
