Elderly people continue to be targeted by distraction burglars in the area after two further reports yesterday.
On Sunday, three elderly women were approached in South Woodford by a man pretending to need money to take a relative to hospital.
Two women in Charnwood Drive refused the request, but an 82-year-old in Onslow Gardens handed over £40.
Yesterday a man with an English accent knocked at the home of an 89-year-old in Tomswood Hill, Barkingside, and said he needed money for a taxi for a relative.
As he stood at the door, a woman described as being of Eastern European appearance, approached and they both asked for a glass of water.
When the woman noticed her purse was missing, she asked them to leave and they drove away in a dark-coloured car.
An elderly woman was earlier targeted in Roding Lane South, Woodford Green.
A man knocked at her door and asked for money for a taxi as a relative had been rushed to hospital.
The woman eventually handed over £50.
Police are urging the public to be vigilant and call 999 if you witness anything suspicious.
