Two men have been charged in connection with an assault on two traffic wardens in Woodford Green. 

The parking enforcement officers were allegedly attacked by a driver and car passenger after one of them tried issuing a ticket in The Broadway on August 20. 

Police were called to the scene near Woodford Tube station following at 2.40pm to reports of an assault which was witnessed by several bystanders including several children. 

The traffic wardens were treated at the scene for paramedics for bruising to the face and limbs and both of them refused hospital treatment. 

Police have confirmed Jamie Mitten, 30, of Bridle Path in Woodford Green and John Williams, 30, of Malan Square in Rainham were charged with assault by beating on November 12. 

They have both been bailed until their first appearance at Barkingside Magistrates Court on November 25.
