A carer won a London award and will now attend the national finals.
Monica Gayle, has worked for 27 years doing cooking and cleaning at Cambridge Nursing Home, in Cambridge Park, Wanstead.
She won the ancillary worker award at the Great London Care Awards 2014, held on Saturday evening at the Great Connaught Rooms in Holborn.
Nominations are made by the public and the award recognises client service, dignity and respect through the work.
Ms Gayle will now go on to the national finals, the Great British Care Awards, to be held in April 2015.
Five other members of staff at Cambridge Nursing Home were nominated for awards at the ceremony.
Tayvanie Nagendran, director of the home, said: "We are extremely proud to have been nominated for six awards, it is testament to the excellent service that our team delivers to our residents every day.
“Congratulations to Monica for her win, we were delighted to celebrate with her."
