A mother took part in a photoshoot challenging an underwear chain’s posters which claimed to show the “perfect body”.

Natalie Lee, 34, of Gordon Road, Wanstead, spotted the campaign advertised on Facebook and was one of the women chosen to model last week at the Daily Mail’s headquarters in Kensington.

Victoria Secrets launched campaign posters showing models with the so-called ‘perfect body’ last month, leading to a backlash on Twitter with users posting the hashtag #iamperfect.

A petition was also set up describing the posters as playing on women’s insecurities and perpetuating low esteem.

Victoria Secrets have now changed the wording of the advertisements to “a body for every body”.

Mrs Lee has lived in Wanstead for six years and is currently a full-time mother looking after daughters Autumn, 2, and Alexa, 5.

The former midwife said: “The Victoria Secrets campaign showed no diversity at all and it is important to show my daughters all types of women.

“The shoot was all inclusive and most people have been really positive about it, there was great feedback on my blog.

“I just wanted to help provide a more rounded view in the media.”

The blogger lives with 34-year-old husband Matthew, who she said has been supportive of her decision to get involved.

She added: “I have never done anything like this before and I was nervous but it was really good.

“We all got make up and our hair done, there weren’t any men in the studio at the time and they made us feel very comfortable.

“Matthew thought I looked great and was really supportive and please for me to get involved in this cause.”
