MORE than £500 was raised for breast cancer research at a pink aerobics bash.

Thirty diet and keep fit enthusiast ranging from 14 to 70-years-old wore pink, got some exercise and enjoyed a low fat buffet lunch in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign.

Karen Smith opened her branch of the Rosemary Conley club in 1994 and runs eight classes per week based at the Bridge Community Venue, Maybank Road, Woodford Green.

She said: “We then had our regular weigh in followed by a 45min aerobics session complete with me wearing bunny ears throughout which was not comfy.

“We also had a sale on the day of handmade jewellery, ladies Italian accessories, handmade greetings cards and South African seasonings all of which helped to raise funds.”

The Brest Cancer Campaign supports 114 projects worth over £14.5 million in 46 locations throughout the UK.

Over the past 12 years, Campaign has awarded 232 grants with a total value of over £23 million to universities, medical schools, teaching hospitals and research institutes across the UK.
